Cableguy

The day started like any normal week day. The alarm clock went off early in the morning, I hit snooze and dozed off for ten minutes before it went off again. This time I killed the alarm did a good stretch before climbing out of bed. The morning tasks went like usual, then I got dressed in a polo work shirt and khakis. I cooked some bacon, eggs and hash browns before leaving the house to make my first stop. It was a new customer and company policy was new customers are top priority. A call the day before to the gentleman had informed me that they had just moved into their house and that him and his wife work but his oldest daughter would be there to let me in. Being a cable technician at that time I needed access where ever it had to be hooked up. A tad early, I took my time getting my gear around before approaching the front door. The door almost instantly swung open as I rung the bell. A stunning tall blue eyed redhead welcomed me with a “good morning, please come in.”

I thanked her, introduced myself while shaking her hand I walked in. Then I said “first things first please show me all the rooms you’d like the cable ran to.” Shes like “well we all use wifi so we really only need it ran to where we decided to put our modem.” She showed me to a room they had setup as their office, all it had in it was a desk in the corner. I thought to myself this will be a quick job and I’ll have to call the next customer to see if I can be there early and hopefully my work day will be short. When I headed back outside I noticed a junction box setup on the side of the house and cable ran into the basement. The cable checked out and it was all top quality so half of my work was done. I went back inside to head into the basement, when I got there I realized somebody had cable hooked up, it just needed to be ran into that room. Ten minutes later performed preliminary checks to make sure the signal was on par. It all checked out, I packed my gear up, ran it out to the van before grabbing the paper work and heading back in. As I let myself back in I announced “excuse me, I’m all finished up and ready to go just need a signature.
