Unpopular girl
Frankly, Eleanor was not ugly at all, she was just… common. She was 5′-9” tall, with a curvy body on the right places. Her skin was tanned and her face reminded me of a younger Janine Garofalo, including a pair of glasses and a small nose piercing with a short brown hair that seemed stuck in the 1990s. Not a model, but at least she was some sort of company until it was time to go back to the hotel room.
During dinner, I found that Eleanor was not that annoying. She maybe could be a complete ignorant about music, politics, gossip, or news, and her smile was kind of silly, but she was an expert on TV shows and movies, specially science fiction. I had been a science fiction fan all my life, and she commented on having a few collectibles. The dinner was fun and by the end, she asked if I was interested in looking at her last acquisition, a set of original posters of classic sci-fi movies. Being the nerd I am, I accepted, so soon we were in Eleanor’s apartment.
She had a roommate that worked the night shift at the local hospital, so we had the apartment to ourselves. She went for the posters, which were great, and I soon found myself trying to purchase one of them for my own collection. She did not sell, but offered me to try one of her specialties: Rum Chocolate cake. It sounded interesting, so she got the cake, some coffee and turned on the TV. We sat down on the big sofa in front of the TV, but soon got bored of it and continued talking about science fiction while eating the excellent cake she made.
